Product photography in the studio.
For the past decade, I’ve been shooting products in the studio, everything from tiny lipsticks to full-scale room sets. If it can fit through the door (or sometimes even if it can’t), I’ve probably photographed it. Whether it’s a sleek beauty product, a high-tech gadget, or an entire living room setup, my approach remains the same: create striking, high-quality images that make the product shine.
Shooting in a studio has its advantages – namely, control. No waiting for the sun to behave, no battling the elements, no unexpected gusts of wind sending carefully placed props flying. In a studio, every aspect of the image is intentional. Lighting can be sculpted to highlight textures, colours can be kept true to life, and reflections can be managed to perfection. It’s all about creating the ideal conditions to present a product at its best.
That being said, just because a product is shot in a studio doesn’t mean it has to look like it. I have a particular knack for recreating outdoor environments indoors whether that’s crafting a sun drenched patio scene for garden furniture, a dewy forest floor for skincare products, or a dramatic moonlit backdrop for something a little moodier. The benefit? You get all the atmosphere of an outdoor setting with none of the unpredictability.
Studio photography isn’t just about aesthetics it’s about telling a story. A well shot product image can do more than just show what an item looks like; it can highlight its quality, its functionality, and how it fits into the lives of customers. That’s why I approach every shoot with a mix of technical expertise, creative problem solving, and just the right amount of perfectionism.
So, whether you’re looking for clean, crisp packshots, highly stylized advertising imagery, or something in between, I’ve got the experience, the skills, and most importantly the patience to make it happen. Let’s create something brilliant together.
