Expertise in lighting sets

Photographing and lighting sets is a niche skill that few photographers have the opportunity to develop, but after years of working with brands like DFS, B&Q, and Homebase, I’ve honed a distinct style that brings out the best in every space. Whether it’s a full living room setup, a kitchen designed to feel warm and inviting, or a carefully curated workspace, the challenge lies in making these environments look natural yet aspirational. Every shadow, highlight, and reflection is intentional, ensuring the final image feels immersive and true to life.

These skills translate seamlessly into video, where I’ve also been called upon to light sets for motion work. Lighting for photography requires meticulous precision because a still image is studied in detail, every highlight, shadow and texture needs to be carefully controlled. Video, on the other hand, is more forgiving, often allowing for broader, more dynamic lighting setups. I bring the same attention to detail as I do in photography, ensuring each frame holds up as a striking visual on its own. The result is a refined, cinematic look that enhances the storytelling and elevates the production.

From creating soft, natural daylight in a windowless studio to balancing practical and artificial light for a seamless, polished aesthetic, my experience in set photography and lighting allows me to craft visuals that feel effortless yet highly considered. Whether for photography or video, the goal is always the same, capturing a scene that draws the viewer in and makes the product, space, or story shine.

Every one of these images is shot in the studio, Lit and shot by me.
